PRIDE BOOK FAIR
Pride Book Fair is a virtual book fair event hosted by indie author Erinn Harper on Instagram and Bluesky during the month of June (Pride Month). The purpose of the event is to uplift and support queer authors and books—something Erinn feels is more important than ever in the face of book bans, the fight for trans rights, queer censorship, and numerous other issues within the queer community. During the fair, you can participate in weekly activities, talk up your favorite queer books, and enjoy sales and giveaways!So if you’re a queer creator or even a queer ally with a passion for queer literature, this event is for you! Whether you’re an author promoting your own books, a reviewer or blogger celebrating your favorite reads, or simply a reader on the lookout for more titles to add to your TBR pile, the Pride Book Fair is open to you.Ideally, any upcoming titles featured during the fair should be published by the end of 2024. Authors are not required to out or identify themselves as queer during the event, but promoted books should be queer!This event is strictly anti-AI. Please support human creators!
EVENT SCHEDULE
The Pride Book Fair will feature four week-long events:WEEK ONE: SPIRIT WEEK
June 1st through June 8th
Celebrate queer spirit in literature! Share aesthetics, moodboards, playlists, blurbs, teasers, reviews, art, etc., from your own books; share your favorite queer books; or share your bookish sites (e.g. review blogs, YouTube channels). Photos, reels, graphics, Stories... The sky is the limit, so long as the featured books are queer!WEEK TWO: PROMPT WEEK
June 9th through June 15th
Let's talk about queer books! Respond to daily questions that Erinn provides. You can answer as many or as few as you'd like. Check the Prompts tab for the planned list of prompts.WEEK THREE: WISHLIST WEEK
June 16th through June 22nd
Share your wishlists of queer books, especially books you've heard about during the fair! Alternatively, participants can make recommendations or recommendation requests (e.g. if looking for specific queer rep)!WEEK FOUR: PROMO WEEK
June 23rd through June 30th
Promote your discounted books or giveaways if you're an author! Share your spoils if you buy any books on sale!Tag your posts with #pridebookfair on both IG and Bsky!
